The Spring Break Adventure

So the one thing I didn't mention in my spring break blog from yesterday was the little extra adventure...A broken wrist!!!
   That's right! The 2nd day in Louisiana Makayla fell off an electric scooter and broke her wrist. It had been a beautiful day,we went to dinner with one side of the family and went back to our Memes house and we were all outside talking and visiting and the kids pulled out the electric scooter and the rest is history! She barely even cried, in fact she cried more about the road rash on her leg than her arm. I didn't even take her to the ER right away, that's how little she complained. However, about two hours later the wrist started looking really funny and swollen. Off to the ER we went! (thanks to my mom for hanging out with us)

The next day we saw an orthopedic in Shreveport who looked her over and put a plaster cast on it to get us home....

Day 2

We saw our doctor as soon as we got back in town and he sent us to a pediatric orthopedic. The good news is it doesn't need to be set or any surgery! YAY! Praise God. It is broken all the way through so she will spend about 6 weeks in a cast and maybe 3 more in a brace. She is doing really well, she has little pain and is adjusting to not using her right hand.

On Monday we marked week 2 with a new purple cast!
