David's First Birthday

Last night we celebrated David's first birthday!! This year has been a wild, amazing, blessed ride.
And boy, it has flown by!
We just had a small family party since this blessed little boy had an adoption shower and party already this summer.
We went with a Sesame Street theme and lucky me, my sweet friend Rachel had the same theme a few months ago for her son and kindly shared her decorations.

David's smash cake...
 First birthday cake...

 The birthday boy....
 GG made his shirt...
He actually got into the present opening.
A card, money and a crown from Meme and Pop
 Money from GG and Papa
 lullaby Elmo from Nonna

 Toys and More toys...

Testing out and playing with his new toys

Then came time for cake. He did not need any help diving into his smash cake. It was hard for me to keep him out of it when the candle was lit.

 First hands in....

 getting more adventurous....

He loved sharing with James and I, he thought it was so funny. The look on his face was priceless!

Sweet baby really digging into his cake. ...I believe he would have kept eating it if we hadn't stopped him and headed to the bath.

His PawPaw Roland and Grandma Dawn came by and loved on him and dropped off their gifts early since they were going to be out of town.

This morning he did some shopping with his birthday money!
We had such a fun evening. James grilled a wonderful dinner and we enjoyed celebrating David.
We are so thankful God chose us to be his parents!
