Making it Offical

Finally, the big day of adoption week arrived... Thursday morning & court!!!

I still can not wrap my mind around the fact that God answered a prayer we had been praying for at least four years. James and I kept looking at each other and saying things like "This is it" "We are finally here!"

That precious little baby boy we bought home from the hospital almost a year ago was about to officially be a Lis. 

No more foster care paperwork or home visits, it was all coming to a glorious close. 

Once again our precious friend Brittany Myers took all the pictures that morning. She totally blessed us by coming to court and capturing the day for us. We will always be able to look back at these pictures with joy!

Judge Woodburn has been on David's case from the start, he truly had his best interest at heart every time the case came in front of him

 We were the first case of the day and we took up a good bit of the courtroom. I have to mention that everyone talked about Christopher and James Henry's mohawks including the judge! They were a big hit.

 It was time, but wait! James had taken James Henry to the restroom just a minute before the judge came in. We held up our own adoption with a bathroom break! That is real life when you have children!

I love that when they swore James and I in, all of the kids raised their right hand as well!

 What we dreamed, waited, prayed and planned for for years only took about 10 minutes to complete!

 We were joined that morning by our Pastor, David's adoption worker from CPS, my mom, James' dad and stepmom, two members of our Buckner family, James' mom and stepdad, our lawyer and Brittany (taking pictures)

 One of the most special moments that morning is when we held hands and our pastor prayed for our family and for David. It was such a blessing and I am thankful for this picture and all of the people in it.
