We spent the afternoon watching our new movie and enjoying our Cajun Christmas dinner.
Candlelight service was beautiful that evening. Our Christmas is not complete without it and there is just no other way to spend Christmas Eve.
After the kids were in bed, James and I prepped for Christmas morning. Our tree had no presents underneath because of David so that night we pulled them all out of the office and filled their stockings.
One of my favorite family gifts were these bears. They are made from James' Marine Corp uniforms. One for me and each of our kids. There is a 6th one that was Stephanie's gift this year.
The big kids woke up at 7am sharp on Christmas day. The first thing we did was stockings.
David was not thrilled with the 7am wake up call, it took him a bit to come around.
Then they took turns opening presents one at a time.
David wasn't as much into the actual presents as much as the paper. He would rip one piece off at a time, look at it and say "OH" and then shred some more paper. He did this all day! He would shred any paper he found on the floor. It was a joy to watch.
I bought James a new G Shock watch.
Right before this picture James was using a hammer to put together the motorcycle and when he got up to grab a different tool, David took over for him.
Roland and Dawn joined us for Christmas Day brunch.
We played in the afternoon and put together some more gifts.
Our present from James Henry.
Late in the afternoon John and Stephanie joined us for pizza.
We went in together for Makayla's big present. We bought the materials and Steph did the labor. She made Makayla a Doctor Who bedding set, curtains and pillows.
It kinda looks like they are sitting on Santa's lap!
I love getting Christmas cards from family & friends.
So, this year James totally surprised me for two reasons. He doesn't wait or do surprises so the fact that he hid my gifts for so long is amazing. Second, we don't normally do gifts for each other. I thought I was cheating with the watch but he bought me diamonds, 5 gift cards and a Fit Bit. He is amazing.
The diamonds have blue and green in them. They are beautiful.
The kids got selfie sticks in their stockings....
How David uses his train table from my mom....
Makayla's new room....
This is how Christopher was for several days...We asked him if he got a gift that was not legos and he answered "Yes, what was in my stocking"
He even spent some of his own money to buy more Legos after Christmas.
I can honestly say the Lis Family had a blessed Christmas and enjoyed our time very much.
